10,000 Steps to Great Health and fitness
Every soccer coach wants to be as healthy as possible but not everybody has the time to try and do the required amount of exercise to get to be effective on the field. This is one of the reasons that the ten thousand step method has become well-liked. The plan is that you take at least ten thousand steps each day (walking) and that can help you get very healthy and cut down on the time that is required for exercise. Walking can be fantastic exercise and really low impact. How often have you noticed a physician say “just a single stroll around the block helps your health”? And, just imagine being fit, so you can properly coach your players how to dribble a soccer ball .
Obviously, getting in ten thousand steps day after day is going to be a challenge. That’s a lot of of steps to take! The best part is that you probably already take the majority of those steps each day already and don’t know it yet. What you’ll want to do is figure out how to incorporate several more thousand steps to get to the objective. So how will you do that without feeling just like you’re spending the entire day walking about?
Increasing your step count can be achieved easily using these obvious methods. Use the stairs instead of the elevator–that’s rather basic. You may possibly also decide to park far from the front door of the store or the mall. Keep your vehicle in one spot and walk your bags and boxes out to the car after you finish shopping in each store as an alternative to just carrying more and more things with you as you run your errands and go shopping. Using public travel is great for boosting your step count since you have to walk to the bus stop and back instead of just to and from the car. And, obviously, getting a quick walk each day is a great way to increase your step count.
You could also boost the amount of steps you take by using some less than apparent methods. Plan a grocery store grocery list differently. Most people will write out a grocery store list based on the aisles in the stores. Instead, organize your list directly into specific categories like produce, dairy and meat. Then go shopping in accordance with the order on the list. You could wind up making a number of trips back and forth across the store, but it is a great way to increase your step count. Put your mail box on a post on the curb as an alternative to on your door or in your wall. This will create at least two or three dozen steps to your count everyday as you walk from your door to the box and back.
Increasing your step count can be achieved in several ways. As you grow to be familiar with walking 10,000 steps each day you’ll develop plenty of creative ways to get to that number. Thankfully, every single step you take–whether it’s walking to the refrigerator or going for walks on a treadmill, counts toward your end step count goal. Have fun with this!
