It’s surprising if you think about it, but chipping in golf should be the  most basic of golf shots to carry out, yet still it is a shot that often causes many golfers major problems within their games.

Let us put this to rights straight away.  If you follow these simple and easy chip pointers you will certainly rarely have a problem just as before.

• Let the club face do the work and be sure you raise the ball rather than trying to scoop up underneath it.

• Gradually increase you swing movement to make certain that on impact you are striking into the golf ball.

• Try and make the chip pitch somewhat prior to the border of the green so that the impetus of the golf ball progresses to the flag, in place of pitching onto the green and potentially rolling back onto the fairway once again.

Now that we understand the basics of a chip shot, let us put it altogether.

Chipping Tip 1:

Assume your regular position, but be certain that your legs are a little closer to one another and that the golf ball is arranged nearer to your back foot.  Your shoulders needs to be open and your palms must be in front of the ball.  This position will ensure that the club face bites into the bottom of the ball pushing it higher into the sky each time.

Chipping Tip 2:

Be certain that your weight is securely on your leading foot and that the power of your swing action is produced from your forearms rather than your wrists.  Or else, you might very well be looking for information on how  to fix a slice instead.  Assuming your position is appropriate,  how long your golf ball will fly is going to be driven by the length of your downswing.  So for example, for a pitch that is nine yards from the green, just experiment by reducing your back swing instead of aiming to decrease the amount of force at which you strike the ball.  Keep in mind, force is created from your back swing.

A superb tip here to evaluate distance is to picture you are rolling the ball underarm.  Imagine where your arm would finish to make the flag?  This imaginary location is where you should aim to finish the follow through of your actual chip shot.

Chipping Tip 3:

Now, with your head firmly down and set on the golf ball, imagine your body as a pendulum and pay attention to snapping through the golf ball to generate elevation from the swing action.  You should keep in mind that your back swing and follow-through need to be the same.

In no way quit on the pitch, if you do, you will find yourself messing the shot up completely and the possibility of that Par will more than likely result in a Bogey.
