Golf is considered a great game by many people. Lots of people of all ages like to play golf. Some families even outfit their children with child size clubs and think of the game as a great family outing. If you think this game is boring, give it a chance and you may grow to love it.

It’s important not to flip your wrist when the club makes contact with the ball. Most people will have an instinctive feeling that they need to “flip” their wrists but you need to avoid doing this. The goal is to have your wrist straight out during follow through. Your ball will stay on target and your slice will be reduces if you accomplish this. You will notice that your ball will travel farther this way too because of the maximized strength at the point of contact.
During back swing your left knee should be toward your target. Your sense of stability in both knees as well as some muscle tension should be felt this way. The position you are now in will help you maintain a good base and minimize the amount of turn your upper body will give you during follow through. The best way to practice this is to try holding a basketball between your knees when you swing (or at least imagine that you need to keep one there). This helps you see how you need to point your left knee and what strength you will need to draw from.
This hitchhiker position is the position you want your right hand to be in during your back swing. That is to say when your hands are at waist height you should see your thumb pointed toward the stars if you are in the right position. Your left hand however should be in a handshake position. Straight out as if to be shaking another and to the right. This will help you improve your golf swing from the back swing all the way through your follow through. We understand that there’s a lot of advice around when it comes to golfing. No matter what, keep playing and always please do have fun with it and your golfing buddies. Of course, it is easier to have fun if you know that you are doing your best. Working on your swing is something that every golfer should do.
