Sonocaddie V100 Review
Take a peek at the Sonocaddie V100, if you’re looking for a golf GPS that isn’t about to drain your money tank, but will nevertheless, give you the data you’ll need. One might be put off by the very regular look of the Sonocaddie V100, but do not be. Okay. Well, it’s not as pretty as a Callaway uPro or a Garmin Approach. But I’m pretty sure it has all the features you will need, that is, if you don’t need to “see” the course in glorious 3D..
If you think about it, the user interface with fancy graphics is what marked the line between the 350 – 400 dollars models from the 150 – 250 dollars models. and the Sonocaddie V100 can do everything…except the fancy graphics.
The Sonocaddie V100 can do the following
-
- The distances front, center and back of green .
- Record distances to certain targets like shelters, creeks, water, and trees.
- It records your last shot and can be set up to record personalized target.

The main thing going against this wonderful piece of GPS is its size. By that I mean, it’s a little bigger and heavier than some of the more current, slimmer golf GPS devices. Now, it’s not big and it’s not heavy, just a little less sleek than some of the other more expensive models. There’s a plus for being a hulk, too! Bigger means more viewport for the screen, and after all, that’s what you want, isn’t it?You can put it anywhere, in the golf bag, in the belt clip that comes with it, in the golf cart, even on your pocket, and don’t even know it’s there!
Easy to use
There are 2 things that the Sonocaddie V100 GPS Unit has going for it.. It’s really, really easy to use.Did I just say really really? well, it’s Reeeaaall easy.Setting it up is a breeze, within minutes, you’re up and playing. The screen has large display which is just spectacular! You just turn it on and basically start playing. I really like that, since I hate looking at instruction manuals!
No Annual Fees
Also, instead of paying an annual fee, accept their offer to pay a once-in-a-lifetime fee of about $30, then you can download whatever course you want. That’s a nice deal for someone who’s as frugal as me
And so, if you’re looking for a GPS unit that offers all the basic functions, without the bells and whistles, and won’t cost an arm and a leg then you should absolutely get the Sonocaddie V100 GPS unit, but it’s so doggone easy to use! With that in mind, in this price range, I would probably go for the equally functional, but oh so much smaller iGolf Neo. You decide! The right choice lies with the Sonocaddie V100 GPS device, however.Whatever the case may be, you definitely won’t go wrong with the Sonocaddie V100
