When using a cigar torch, the flare is so strong and hot that the tip of the cigar has no choice except to light properly with a little rotation of the cigar. A quick, hot lighting with with the torch will produce similar results even in windy situations. Matches or a lighter cannot produce this strong burn during normal weather conditions let alone in a windy situation.
