Want a Golf Carry Bag? – Check Out These Steps
Golf carry bags are lightweight and practical . The problem today is there are so many different extras and designs to choose from . For a lot of golfers the initial check will be the price tag , but once you know your range then you need to turn to the other features offered by the bag .
Simply follow these 6 steps and you will find the correct golf bag for you:
1. Check the weight – This varies a lot, you can find bags as light as 3-4 lbs, but others can be very heavy. 19 holes of golf is a long time to carry your clubs so ensure you do not pick a bag that is going to weigh you down .
2. Is it stable – The majority of carry bags now have a stand attached . This will plainly add a little weight , but it is a great feature as it makes it a lot easier to get to your golf clubs and pockets. The width of the stand is important when you put the bag down . The triangle formed must be wide to keep it stable as the bag can easily be blown over in windy conditions.
3. Club Storage – Golf carry bags are smaller than trolley golf bags . So it can be easy for your golf clubs to get tangled together when trying to take them in or out of the golf bag . You need to have 4-5 dividers where at least 2 of them are full length dividers to prevent this happening .
4. Straps - Must carry bags now will come with dual straps which is a definite requirement to keep you in balance while you are carrying your clubs . The feature you need to look for are easily adjustable straps so you are not having to to fiddle about while on the course to alter them.
5. Storage Pockets – It is important to have enough storage pockets to avoid packing everything into one or two pockets and making them over bulky and awkward to carry. Important pockets to have are:
- Small valuables pocket – preferably waterproof
- Large pocket for storage of bulky waterproofs, jumpers etc. .
- Pocket for drinks – this should be easy to get to and insulated
- Handy easy to get to pocket for storing your golf balls and tees
- someplacefor your scorecard
6. Extras – Other items worth having are:
- Rain Hood that can be simply put on while playing
- A towel hook or strap
- Storage for your umbrella
- Padding where the golf bag is in contact with your body, particularly your lower back area
Once you have decided on a golf carry bag design that fits all your requirements you then just have to decide on color, do you want to stand out from the crowd or blend in?
