When I go to a golf event, one location I never neglect spending time is the golf practice range. It’s intriguing to watch professionals as they’re truly practicing their craft. Hence what do the women and men who make their living competing in this game do that most of us never do? Several things, actually, and some that seem to hold little significance really are significant.

1. Organize yourself before you strike that first golf ball. Be sure to dress correctly, including golf shoes and glove. Decide specifically what you propose to work on during your session, and by all means, stretch appropriately, not just prior to your opening golf shot, but at regular intervals.

2. Do not begin using the driver! Begin using the Pitching Wedge and work up, ending with your driver. This is important to rectify any faults when they creep within the golf swing, accordingly it becomes easier to fix when you build up the length of your swing.

3. Take your time between shots. When you’re at the golf practice range, make every one of them matter. Step back and evaluate why you miss hit a ball as opposed to just brushing it off. Alter your target areas regularly, because it’ll make you regularly reconsider your alignment as well as position on the ball. Occasionally following set up, lay a golf club setting on the ground touching your toes, subsequently check from behind to see whether you’ve aligned yourself the way you had wanted. I know often I am surprised how much my alignment was off.

4. Endeavor to recreate circumstances on the golf course as often as you possibly can when practicing. This may necessitate some imagination, but think of out of bounds or even a water hazard on one area or the other of your target area.

5. Concentrate! I watched Tiger Woods around the practice green together with his caddy at Celtic Manor, and his focus was unbelievable. There was no interaction with anyone else. That held true for most of the golfers when they were at the driving range. Turn off the cell phone and don’t mingle.

6. Most essential, have fun. Make a game of being on the golf practice range. Challenge yourself to hit five consecutive shots within five feet of your target, or three drives to the left of an imaginary fairway, then three right and three center. Using some imagination it may be almost as much enjoyment as being on the course.

Preparation does not have to be all grind. Developing the Correct Golf Swing can be enjoyable, and the more enjoyment you will have on the golf practice range, the more anxious you will be to return and the better you will become.
